Here is the link to our video for the second term.

My opinion about the topic of our project.

First of all, I would like to say that making this video was a great way to learn new things, as most of the information used in this project I didn’t know about. I also would like to say that the assembling of the video was another way for me to learn how to do something new.

Secondly, I would like to say that we have all worked equally, as each one of us have done different things, from looking up information, to translating from Spanish to English, to speaking to an environmentalist, and assembling the whole video together.

Finally, in my opinion, I think that very little people know the truth about the contamination there is in the area of “El Campo de Gibraltar”, or it seems to me that they don’t. To me, this is a very worrying fact because to think that my family members or friends could have cancer or any other type of illness in the future because of the contamination that these refineries cause, is something very scary. I think that the work all the environmentalist do is something I admire because, even though Politian’s do nothing after seeing all the facts and pictures, they still fight to protect and save the environment, and with this, the people that surround the refineries. If they do not put a stop to al the contamination that is produced in the world, we will be our own murderers at the end.

Regards, Rebecca.

My opinion.

Well let's start with my personal opinion, first of all like to say that with this project we have learned a lot and that citizens are not aware of the pollution around them. We have had the pleasure of meeting the ecologist Rachel Ñeco and she has given us valuable information on pollution in this town. From this project I can say that this is a very important issue for our health, we worked all equally but Eric has worked a little less because he was sick that week. In conclusion I say that is very important and I think that this has helped the whole class to see the pollution that surrounds us.
Regards, Javi Fernandez Ortiz.

My opinion

Sorry for the delay, I didn’t know we had to make a comment about the work we did, but here it is:

I wonder what can the citizens do. Clearly we can’t do anything, just sit there and suffer. Perhaps we can organize ourselves and demand justice for our own health, but it is not worth it, we are very small compared to those big companies. We have learned a lot to do with our health risks. I personally thank Rachel Ñeco for her participation in our project.

Penelope.

PS: We have participated equally. To the interview, Elisa, Javier, Rebecca and I went to, and also to take pictures. Eric did not attend because he was sick. I focused on the questions to Rachel, and also to find the songs and photographs. Javi focused on translating Rachel and making her video presentation. Eli focused on seeking ways to mount the video and also making the video near the refinery (we were very cold) and Rebecca is responsible for translating Raquel and assembling the video. Finally, Eric looked for further information and completed it using his voice.

My opinion about our project.

I believe that in the project that we have developed, it is clear that there is contamination in the Campo de Gibraltar, specifically in the area of Puente Mayorga and Guadarranque. We have tried to defend the ecologists, seeing as nobody does anything to prevent the pollution that the factories produce. In my part of the work, I explain how the citizens of that area have to breathe the air and swim in this area, jeopardizing their health. We all need to know what these factories produce and the amount of pollution that we inhale.

Opinion

My part in the project was talking a bit in general about pollution and industries in our area. I think that we worked well toghether as a group and ended up with a nice project that states what we think about the subject.
